Habs going to sleep tonight on top of the Associaton Is the NHL with a 3-1 win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
This is the second goal of the season Alex Galchenyuk which made the difference for the Canadian. He enjoyed a good exchange of passes with Brandon Prust and Lars Eller, who allowed him to score the winning goal. It was his first career abroad.
The Rangers took the lead in the second period through Anton Stralman, who grabbed his own rebound to thwart Carey Price while the referees had raised his arm to impose a penalty Canadian. Of the sequence, the Habs seemed to play in slow motion until the official’s whistle. For one, Erik Cole made a terrible defensive coverage on the game while the Rangers player passed him.
Max Pacioretty tied the game with his second goal in two games, it has not hit the target this season before yesterday’s meeting. He beat Henrik Lundqvist with a shot on reception on pass from Josh Gorges and David Desharnais.
Canadian held up late in the game when Tomas Plekanec found himself in the penalty with three minutes to play. While the Rangers had pulled their goalie, Raphael Diaz found the back of the net with a clearance which put the final nail in the coffin of New Yorkers.
The first two periods of the game lacked rhythm, being marked by very few shots on goal per game tight and caused many stops games including several Canadian releases.
