Habs Vs Bruins Big Rivals Clash

February 6, 2013 |

The Boston Bruins will meet tonight at the Bell Centre the new version of Canadians, more energetic, aggressive and has a different face in recent years. Watch Live Habs Vs Bruins

Scarce in recent years, Boston will also feature a team who came into contact with the Northeast Division. The Bruins currently sit enthroned atop the Eastern Conference with 13 points under their 6-1-1 record, but men do not accuse Michel Therrien one point behind and they could go to bed tonight top of their division if they manage to bring a seventh win in nine games this season.

If Claude Julien’s team seeks to impose itself physically, his blows should not go unanswered this time, because the Canadian armed themselves to go to war with the acquisitions of Brandon Prust and Colby Armstrong.

Despite their excellent start to the campaign, not everything is perfect for the Bruins. One aspect that is lacking so far is the powerplay. Bruins players have scored only three goals in 30 opportunities for an anemic rate of 10 percent efficiency.

The Bruins, who will try to sign a fifth straight victory over the Canadiens suffered a setback last Thursday 7-4 after conceding four goals in the third period in Buffalo Saturday before rebounding with a 1-0 win over Toronto goal by Chris Bourque and goalie Tuukka Rask brilliance of which was able to forget his face against the Sabres-performance.

The Bruins got two goals or less on five occasions since the start of this shortened season. They dominated Toronto 34-21 in shots on goal in addition to launching more often than their opponents in five straight games. Bruins décochent average of 32 shots on goal per game.

Canadians defense impresses with the fewest goals this season in the NHL with 17.

The Canadian had started last season at home compiling a record of 1-5-2 to finally finish the season at home with a record slightly higher, with a 500 overall record of 16-15-10.

Goaltender Carey Price won his last six starts and displays a goals against average of 1.65.
