The Montreal Canadiens needed extra time, but it was worth it since leaving Florida with a sweep in his luggage with a 1-0 win over the Panthers in overtime on Thursday.

Rene Bourque hit the puck at 2:10 of the flight overtime period to successfully defeat Jose Theodore, who rose like a wall before. Bourque has completed a beautiful climb Alex Galchenyuk to ensure that eighth victory in 13 games for the Montreal Canadiens.

“It’s part of his learning to play four against four in overtime, commented Therrien. He gave a second effort on the sequence and Bourque remained in the net. ‘

The Florida sun has been good for the Canadian who walks away with four points after a sequence of three defeats before Tuesday’s game in Tampa where he defeated the Lightning 4-3 in a dam.

“It is not clear (to succeed in Florida), said Therrien. We raised four points out of four. We can say mission accomplished. ‘

Panthers goalkeeper was featured individual meeting. It was brilliant the whole game, facing 32 shots including some that were solid. It has frustrated several Canadiens players including PK Subban who tried to beat him with a shot low to his left in the third. A few minutes earlier, he had also closed the door to Brian Gionta and Bourque.

The Montreal Canadiens has not sunk into indiscipline unlike his bad habits, conceding only two powerplays the Panthers. The Montreal Canadiens, who took three massive attacks, was unable to take his side.

“We played a good game team, said coach Michel Therrien, delighted. We were disciplined and we set the pace. The Panthers were tough, but we have restricted their reaction time and space. ”

In the Panthers, Jonathan Huberdeau took advantage of an opportunity in a rare threat, but he has not been able to deceive the vigilance of Carey Price in third.

Author of 26 shots, Price signed his first shutout of the season, his first since February 4, 2012 in Toronto.

No goal

The Montreal Canadiens had the best during the first 40 minutes of play, but unfortunately for him nothing seemed to score.
Dominated in shots 21-13, the Panthers were satisfied with equal to zero.

The team with the fewest goals in the East got its best opportunities to attack early in the evening, during a power play.

The shot of Alex Kovalov forked over a pad PK Subban and whipped the pole to the right of Price.

The best chance of the visitors was that of Brandon Prust, towards the end of the first period. Paired again with two young, Prust saw Theodore frustrate short distance.

We also reviewed the trio of David Desharnais together. Noting that Desharnais and Erik Cole were fiery coach Michel Therrien Max Pacioretty restored them.

Cole momentarily left the action in the second period, injured as a result of contact with the defenseman Erik Gudbranson.

In the penalty Gudbranson, Theodore Rene Bourque has tested twice with deviations around the net.

Third, Therrien continued use Prust and Pacioretty in alternating trios of Desharnais and Alex Galchenyuk.

The Panthers have released claws, dominating 13-9 in shots. They were able to deploy a massive attack seven minutes from the end, without success.

Montreal Canadiens host the Philadelphia Flyers at the Bell Centre on Saturday.
