After being traded to Calgary, Michael Cammalleri ask at the time ,general manager Pierre Gauthier , if he could keep his sweater. Pierre Gauthier granted his request as long as the team got money for it.

Even if Cammalleri did so much for the Habs in the 2010-2011 playoffs, Gauthier wouldn’t just give him his jersey. What a shame. So $1,250 for the jersey wow what a rip-off.

Now the same jersey if half-off at the Canadiens online store for $109.99.

Who scored two goals and nine assists in 38 games this season, Scott Gomez does not know what the future holds. When he met with reporters, he reiterated that person for the time could not predict what happens next while claiming he wanted to stay with the Canadiens.

“I do not know what will happen. I can not really comment because I do not know what will happen. I think nobody can say what will happen. There will be changes, but I can not answer, I’m not part of management. ”

“I love the city and I hope to be back, said Gomez. Living the playoffs at the Bell Centre in recent years has been one of the greatest experiences I’ve had. ”

“He’s our teammate and we will be behind him, Josh Gorges said about Gomez. His stats are not up to his expectations, he will be the first to say, but it remains a great competitor. It has the same desire to win than others. ”

This is the first time in his career that Gomez starts his holidays as early, he has always seen its playoff teams since the start of his career. “It’s new to me and it’s disappointing. ”

“Injuries have hurt the club at training camp and it continued throughout the season. This is the story of our season, “said the enigmatic athlete who suffered a concussion late season.

The Canadiens ended one of the worst seasons in its history only getting a 16th victory to his supporters, a 4-1 triumph against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Wishing to play for their fans, the Canadiens players have won a 31st game in 2011-12 and they finished well in 28th place overall in the NHL and last in the East.

Players, including many wounded, gathered at center ice at the conclusion of the game to greet fans. The owner Geoff Molson was also present in the environment.

In this Easter weekend, the big question remains whether the Canadian will be able to resurrect next season with which to hire a new CEO.

Tomas Plekanec, Max Pacioretty and Erik Cole have provided moments of rejoicing to their viewers by putting the goals of their training. Brad Staubitz to the delight of his teammates, scored his first in this uniform into an empty net.

For Cole, it was his 35th of the campaign which is his best career total.

Accomplice in order to Cole, Pacioretty finished the season first in scoring with 65 points of Habs.

Cole and David Desharnais, his trio partners, have respectively concluded the year with 61 and 60 points. In 2007-08, Alex Kovalev, Plekanec and Mark Streit had been the last three representatives of Habs to raise at least 60 points in a season.

Because of a severe concussion, Carey Price had yet stepped down to Peter Budaj. Price was still present – dressed as a cowboy – to collect the title of the Molson Cup for 2011-12 season and he was cheered by the crowd for his efforts.

As for Budaj, he concluded on an interesting note conceding a single goal to Dion Phaneuf.

The purpose of Plekanec has been successful in three against five and it was the last goal of the Canadian in such circumstances in the regular season since Guy Carbonneau March 24, 1983 against Minnesota.

During the presentation before the game, some Canadiens players whose PK Subban, Josh Gorges and Cole sent a few words in French supporters for their support during this difficult season.

The time has come to think about the next steps for the revival of the organization beginning with choosing the next general manager, a process that is initiated, and the draft.

Gabriel Dumont likely will play the first regular game of his NHL career Wednesday at the Bell Centre. This is a well-deserved reward, consider Louis Leblanc and Frédéric St-Denis, but the emphasis will be a great learning opportunity for the hockey player Dégelis.

Recalled from minors since Petteri Nokelainen and Ryan White have once again missed practice on Tuesday and the date of return to action by Mathieu Darche, Travis Moen and Scott Gomez remains uncertain, probably Dumont will play just one game or two before being returned to Hamilton. That will be the case even if he was to remain until Saturday as the Bulldogs complete their regular season on April 15 only.

It’s still a beautiful gift for the striker 21, who will have the opportunity to experience the level of play in the NHL and better understand what he wants to take the plunge permanently. Dumont played in exhibition games with the Habs, but he has never worn the uniform tricolor at a meeting of the regular season.

“When you live a National League game, you know more what you need to do next to get better,” said Tuesday St. Denis, who played 54 games with the Bulldogs before being recalled by the Canadiens for the third time this season, 10 days ago. “In the American League, it teaches you things that you must learn to make the jump, but you’re not always sure what to expect once the top.

“Gabriel knows just what to expect, but it’s so important to live, especially at the Bell Centre, with the atmosphere there will be. This is a bonus for him is certain. ”

“It’s an experience you never forget. You can not learn everything in a single match, but it sure gives it a carry over, “said Leblanc, who has participated in 27 games in the American League this winter, and is currently in its fourth country residence with CH. “When I went back in the minors (first), I was more confident with the puck. ”

“Gabriel may be even more motivated to follow his training program during the summer is coming, said St. Denis. I am so confident of seeing (with the great team) next season, although that will depend on the camp, and that many things can happen.

“If there’s one guy who deserved this recall, it was him, has also advanced St-Denis. The game before that reminds me, Gabriel has played over 20 minutes, which is a lot for one before. He does everything well on the ice, and I compare it to a small pit bull. It goes in the corner, he accepted the defeat, or give one, and he creates things on the ice. It is also capable of scoring goals. He did it in junior and Hamilton, it is improving day by day. ”

“He was wounded several times, but we know he is good in both ends of the ice, he does not hesitate to get dirty nose and he does not shrink from physical play, has meanwhile commented Canadiens coach Randy Cunneyworth. This fighting spirit is an important part in young people who aspire to the NHL. It must be tough and not afraid to do what it takes to be successful, even when it was necessary skills. This is a player who should be a good asset to our team. ”

As luck would have it sometimes. Dumont will face his former coach in Drummondville Voltigeurs Guy Boucher, since it is the Tampa Bay Lightning, which will visit the Canadiens on Wednesday. It should also suspect Boucher, then newly hired by the CH to lead the Bulldogs, the Canadiens have led to select the five-foot, 10 inches and 189 pounds in the fifth round draft pick in 2009. Dumont was one of the key players when the Voltigeurs Boucher led them to the Memorial Cup, a few weeks earlier.

Slow to find the presence of a concussion is to risk nothing to impose a treatment protocol very heavy and very long in a hockey player. That is why the Canadian is limited to about headaches, referring to the symptoms experienced by Carey Price right now, not neglecting to give them the proper care.

That, in essence, what to conclude that the medical assessment of the Habs head coach Randy Cunneyworth has made the health of the caretaker of 24 years, Tuesday after practice of his own in Brossard.

Cunneyworth recognized that NHL clubs tend to avoid uttering the word “concussion” for fear of being obliged to follow the protocol imposed by the NHL in such cases.

“It is a protocol that is long, he said. You want the player to follow the protocol if he really (concussion), but it remains a long process. There are constraints. Still, we will neglect any treatment. It’s just that we do not ask the wrong diagnosis, in the interest of the player.

“Carey complained of headaches. It remains to determine its severity. But one should not conclude automatically (concussion) when someone has a headache. ”

Cunneyworth also explained that it is important not to rush a diagnosis because it remains possible that a disease is confused with another. He noted that recently some Canadiens players have had symptoms that led to the conclusion to a concussion, but the flu or another illness. He was referring to Ryan White, who is currently struggling with the same questions as Price, but also to Mathieu Darche and Scott Gomez, Tomas Kaberle and even if Travis Moen, who recently resumed training.

“We will continue to evaluate (Price). This is an ongoing process and this is the case for others as well, said Cunneyworth. Carey saw many things that others have also lived, and the way forward regarding appropriate treatment has not yet been determined, for what for now is simply a headache. ”

Still, the collision between Price and David Desharnais, last Thursday in training, was nevertheless quite important. Desharnais then dropped on the head of his guard during an exercise that was to show fighting spirit in goal.

“I even hurts the ribs by falling on his helmet,” said Desharnais, Tuesday.

“We know there was a collision but it’s easy to jump to conclusions, warned Cunneyworth. It is in the hands of healers and physicians. It takes time to diagnose this kind of thing. ”

The Canadian team physician Dr. David Mulder, Carey Price will review Wednesday to determine whether the involvement of a neurologist is necessary.

It is already clear that Price does not will don the uniform, at the Bell Centre Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Habs also recalled goaltender Robert Mayer’s farm club of the AHL on Tuesday. It will act as a reservist and that’s Peter Budaj, who will face training with Guy Boucher.

Cunneyworth did not rule out the argument that Price one of the last two season games, but this will happen only if the guard is fully prepared to do so, the coach insisted CH. The Canadiens will visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, then recevera the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Bell Centre on Saturday.

Dumont also

The HC has also recalled forward Gabriel Dumont, Tuesday. He was called in reinforcements Petteri Nokelainen and White since both missed the first two workouts of the week, Monday and Tuesday. Gomez, Darche and Moen have even trained with teammates on Tuesday, but the date of their return to the game remains uncertain.

Cunneyworth said defenseman Tomas Kaberle is the player who is closer to a comeback, without qualifying the chances of others to play this week. The coach added, however, before receiving the green light, they must not only be healthy, but also have sufficient physical fitness to play a game.

“I want to have players who can give their best, who will be excited to play, and who will not seek first to act prudently,” said Cunneyworth.

It said it was “likely” that it seek Dumont, Wednesday. He said that the Quebec hockey may be started the game in the center position, although it could possibly be transferred to the right wing.

Mayer and Dumont had to take a flight to Montreal, Tuesday, from Oklahoma City, where were the Bulldogs to an evening game.

Mayer played 35 games with the Bulldogs this season, posting a 12-16-1 record with an average of 3.02 and a save percentage of, 906. Nathan Lawson has better statistics – average of 2.57 and discontinuation rate, 914 in 44 games – but he is currently injured. Peter Delmas, who only played one game this season with Hamilton, was to get the start against the Barons in Oklahoma City on Tuesday night.

Dumont has 13 goals, nine assists and 51 penalty minutes in 55 games with the Bulldogs this season. It has a differential of minus-14.

A concussion for White?

Moreover, the Habs forward Ryan White could also suffer a concussion since he fought a bout with Erik Gudbranson of the Florida Panthers last week.

No doubt that Josh Gorges will not remain an unsung hero throughout his career since he seems destined to one day inherit the title of captain in the Canadian. Meanwhile, defender of 27 years was awarded the Jacques Beauchamp trophy by the media assigned to cover the Montreal club. This is a well-deserved honor.

The identity of the winner of this trophy presented annually “to the player who had a role in the success of the team during the regular season, but without obtaining any particular honor” was announced Tuesday, before training provided Brossard. Gorges will officially receive his award at a ceremony at the Bell Centre before Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This will be the last game of the season for both teams.

“All teams rely on players who are doing excellent work on the ice but spend a little unnoticed. It’s great and I’m happy for him, said PK Subban of his partner at the blue line. It’s always good when you can find a way to recognize the efforts of someone. ”

Gorges received the highest number of first-place votes in the ballot and collected 140 points in total. He has surpassed David Desharnais (102 points) and Alexei Emelin (44 points).

Gorges also won this honor at the end of the 2009-2010 campaign. Defenseman Roman Hamrlik was the winner in last season.

“It’s always nice to receive such recognition, especially for such an honor, said Gorges. I’m lucky this season because others would have earned as much as me. Especially a player like David (Desharnais), which has had an exceptional season and was a key element of this team. ”

Gorges was the leader in the Habs this season for playing time at even strength with a total of 1447 minutes and 44 seconds. He was the player most requested club shorthanded with 303:56 of ice time, which earned him second in the NHL in this chapter. It is the second in time for the Habs game overall is 1785:49 to 10:36 p.m. on average per game.

Gorges is also the leader of the CH in terms of differential (plus-11). It ranks third for hits, with 125. He blocked 243 shots, which puts it at the forefront of all NHL players. Gorges is one of only two players on the team to have played every game this season, who has missed the last 46 clashes of the 2010-2011 season due to knee injury.

“It’s the little things that everyone in the team but appreciates that people do not always, noted Desharnais. It comes with every game. Block shots and excel shorthanded, these are things that everyone is not able to do, so when you have a player who excels in these aspects of the game, it’s nice to reward and to show that we appreciate what he does. ”

Introduced in 1981 in memory of journalist who has devoted much of his professional career to coverage of Canadian, Jacques Beauchamp trophy was presented for the first time Doug Jarvis at the end of the 1981-82 season.

On several occasions this season, Pierre Gauthier and other Canadian leaders have stressed that injuries have greatly affected the performance of the Montreal club. But more often than not, they turned a deaf ear to this argument, saying that all teams go through there and many of them still meets the call.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are a perfect example. By cons, the Tampa Bay Lightning, who will visit the CH at the Bell Centre Wednesday, could not extend its successful 2010-11 season because of a large number of injuries.

The Canadian has experienced the same phenomenon, with more breadth even as many as 36 different players missed a total of 410 games, collectively, so far this season. This is a summit in the NHL. Seven players have missed 20 games or more, Andrei Markov (69), Ryan White (55), Brian Gionta (48), Scott Gomez (41), Travis Moen (31), Chris Campoli (28) and Mike Blunden (20 ).

The last time the CH has surpassed the 400-man games dating back to 2000-01 when the figure had risen to 531 and had also won first place in the NHL club in Montreal. We had reached the 535-man games in 1999-2000.

Players of the Habs questions about it on Monday, did not want to put the disappointments of this season entirely on his back injury. What is right because the other players who missed five games or more for health reasons, only Michael Cammalleri and Hal Gill can be truly regarded as leading players. It may be added to this group Tomas Kaberle, Andrei Kostitsyn, Mathieu Darche and Rapahel Diaz if you are really generous.

“This is one cause, but this is not the only and I would say this is not the main, Darche has also commented about it on Monday, after training with the rest of the team in Brossard, like Moen and Gomez.

“Other teams experience the same thing and pass through. On our side, there was perhaps not shown enough character to do this season. ”

“All teams must deal with injuries but when it’s three, four or five guys for weeks or even months, it hurts. Especially when it comes to key players, as has been the case for us, even insisted on Lars Eller. This is sure it will remove the points in the standings. Unless we, the players who stayed healthy, we should have done better. We were unlucky in the shootout and we have been ill-blows of fate here and there on the ice. But overall, we still have not been good enough to deserve better. ”

“It All Adds Up, agreed Moen. Obviously there are times when injuries influence the course of things, but at other times, it’s our way of playing that had the greatest impact on results. You can not use injuries as an excuse, but it is sure it leads to other kinds of problems. ”

This is also the reaction to injury, more than the injuries themselves, who seem to have been costly to the Canadian. Among the players, while the veterans were unable to take the reins and that young people were not able to accept greater responsibilities. And Gauthier, himself, failed to react to fill the gaps in training, and this is perhaps what will ultimately cost him his position as CEO. Thus he failed to re-sign Roman Hamrlik last summer despite the uncertainty Markov, he engaged in disaster for players who have not had the desired impact, such as Campoli and Kaberle, and he may have exchanged Spacek, too hastily.
